What we treat

Rotator cuff tears and tendon injuries

The rotator cuff is the group of muscles and tendons that hold your shoulder in place and lift your arm. Tears happen from a fall, a heavy lift, or years of gradual wear, and they often show up as pain reaching overhead or weakness when you raise your arm.

Labral tears, including SLAP tears

The labrum is the ring of cartilage that keeps the ball of your shoulder seated in the socket. Athletes who throw, lift, or take contact are especially prone to these, and they can cause catching, clicking, or a feeling that the shoulder isn’t stable.

Shoulder instability and dislocations

Once a shoulder has slipped out of the socket, it’s more likely to happen again. Dr. Deramo repairs the structures that hold the joint in place so it stops giving out.

Frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis)

When the shoulder stiffens and loses range of motion, the goal is to calm the inflammation, break up the scar tissue, and get the muscles working again. Dr. Deramo builds a step-by-step plan to restore your movement.

Impingement and bursitis

Pain that pinches when you lift your arm often comes from tendons and soft tissue getting squeezed in the joint. This frequently improves without surgery, and Dr. Deramo starts treatment.

Shoulder arthritis and cartilage damage

Worn cartilage causes aching, stiffness, and grinding. Treatment ranges from injections and therapy to surgery, depending on how far it’s progressed.
